Jr. Accounting Clerk / Accounts Payable 

Description 

-Receiving/verifying/posting of vendor invoices

-Manage cheque runs, maintaining accounting records

-Maintain filing systems

-Daily disbursement uploads to Accounting program

-Assistance with file openings including conflict searches

-Assistance with other Accounting related activities

 Qualifications 

-Post-secondary education in Accounting/finance or equivalent work experience with basic accounting practices

– Experience in a legal office or professional service firm

-1-5 years of experience

-Excellent communication skills – oral and written

-Ability to multi-task and prioritize

Lindsay LLP is currently seeking a full time legal administrative assistant with a minimum of 3 years experience in insurance defence. Priority will be given to candidates fluent in English and Korean.

Schedule discoveries, mediations, trials, appointments, and maintain calendars;
Organize files, binders, documents, and other file related materials;
Draft correspondence – dicta-typing;
Filing, opening and closing of files;
BF system;
Time entry, and monthly billings.

Holds a Legal Administrative Assistant diploma from a recognized program;
Solid understanding of legal procedures and documentation;
Excellent spoken both English and Korean, and composition, spelling, grammar, and editing skills;
Able to work independently as well as in a team environment;
Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Scheduling of Trials and Examination of Discoveries; and other court dates (IMEs, mediations, TMCs) as requested;
Maintain calendars and bring-forward system;
Generate legal documents and correspondence;
Liaison with other firms by telephone and email correspondence on a daily basis.

Qualifications:
Solid understanding of legal procedures and documentation;
Excellent English, both oral and written;
Able to work independently as well as in a team environment;
Strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask;
Familiar with filing on BC online;
Basic knowledge of/ or experience in litigation an asset ;
Able to handle and prioritize a large volume of files and requests from multiple lawyers and their team.
